Antique Venetian African Trade "Cornaline D'Aleppo" beads. These are multilayered Venetian beads, also referred to as the white heart. The name means "carnelians of Aleppo" as the color of these typically brick-red beads emulates that of carnelian. The white heart in the name refers to a white, ivory, or sometimes yellowish interior layer. Traded in Africa and the Americas.
