A strand of striped glass beads from Indonesia Y23_0365
This is a 24" strand of 94 striped glass beads from Indonesia. These are newly made to imitate ancient Indo-Pacific Trade beads, these are lovely and cost-effective for many a design and are not often available.
The beads range from 5-8mm in length and 6-8 mm in diameter. The sizes are approximate.

It is known that in the last 2-3 decades a new bead-making industry in Indonesia has become increasingly skilled in producing skillful imitations of ancient glass beads, frequently using the ancient glass to rework the beads. These beads were purchased from a collector in Java, and to the best of our knowledge are authentic. COLORS: Our photos are taken in different lighting in an attempt to show how beads look in different lighting conditions. We make every effort to show colors as accurately as possible. The white background photos are taken in daylight conditions. The black background photos are taken in the strong lab light and would be representative of what they would look like in the evening electric light. Some of the photos are backlit to emphasize their translucency. Note that monitor settings strongly affect the way the colors look. What you see on your monitor may differ from what you see with the naked eye depending on your monitor settings.
