Antique natural amber from the Baltic Sea region. It was traded to West Africa along the ancient Amber Route from antiquity. It was for centuries and still is valued as an adornment across West and North Africa.

Thes bead has an internal crack that does not impact the integrity of the bead. In several places dots that appear to be remnants of old heat source applied to the bead can be seen. Please examine the photos for detail.
