A Short Strand of 17 Rare Antique Venetian African Trade Black King Beads dating to the mid to late 1800 through the early 1900s. These bicone beads are said to be worn by the tribal royalty, hence the name. These particular beads are of a relatively rare variety, with a red cross against blue and yellow. They appear to have been unearthed and show substantial wear.
The beads range from about 12x17 mm to about 18x18 mm.
Weights and sizes are approximate.
The beads are in fair antique condition; they may have nicks, chips, and scratches as appropriate for the age. The color is not well preserved on some beads. Please examine the photos carefully. The wooden ruler on the scale photos is on the metric scale. See the last photo for size/scale.
