 This is a strand of rare ancient excavated carnelian agate beads from the Neolithic period. The beads are sourced in the Sahara and are estimated to be over 1000 years old.

The beads are mostly donut-shaped; strands like these are rare and highly prised, The beads are in a delicate orange-pink palette, There are a few light-colored agate beads, and an occasional later carnelian bead. Please see the photos for detail

The strand is approximately 26" including raffia.

The beads are of venerable age, and some have nicks and chips consistent with age. Please see the photos for the detail. The scale of the wooden ruler in the scale photos is metric.
