Blue Ancient Evil Eye Beads: A Short Strand of 15-17 Ancient Islamic Period Blue Evil Eye Beads 0505

$97.45

Option

On offer are three blue ancient evil eye glass beads sourced in Mali. Excavated in the areas of D'Jenne and Gao, these beads are stunning in their beauty. They are dated to Islamic Period, between 8th and 12th century AD. The listing is for ONE strand

The beads are ancient and are somewhat irregular in shape. Every bead is unique. They are in a fair ancient condition, with some beads showing chips, nicks, and minor cracks that do not impact the integrity of the bead. The eyes are mostly white, with an occasional yellow eye possible. Some eyes show substantial wear appropriate for the age.

Most of the beads are roughly round in shape, but strand C has two rare cylindrical beads. Please see the photos for the detail. The first three photos are of strand A, the next three are of strand B, and the last three are of strand C. The strands are marked clearly in the scale photos of each strand. The beads range from about 7mm to 12mm.

Weights and sizes are approximate.

COLORS: Our photos are taken in different lighting in an attempt to show how beads look in different lighting conditions. We make every effort to show colors as accurately as possible. The white background photos are taken in daylight conditions. The black background photos are taken in the strong lab light, and would be representative of what they would look like in the evening electric light. Some of the photos are backlit to emphasize their translucency. Note that monitor settings strongly affect the way the colors look. What you see on your monitor may differ from what you see with a naked eye depending on your monitor settings.
