A group of 11 medium "African amber" phenolic resin beads from Morocco. This is a vintage item dating to the early 20th century. Highly valued in North Africa and beyond.
The beads are well matched in size, approximately 26-17mm, Most of the beads are honey yellow, one is of the redder hue, and one is in-between, with an orange tint.
The listing is for a group of 11 beads. Beautiful old patina. One of the beads has a surface crack that goes about half the depth of the bead; the bead is stable and the crack does not appear to be causing any danger to its stability. One bead has surface marks that may have been due to contact with a hot sharp object. Please see the photos for detail.
