These antique cylindrical glass trade beads from the African Trade are of European origin, dating to the late 18th - early 19th century. 

The translucent beads are mostly clear, a few are blue.   They range from approximately 18mm - 25mm x 10mm, 3mm hole.  The strand is 34 inches without raffia with 40 beads. The weight is 212 grams per strand.

Note: several strands are shown in some photos. This listing is for ONE strand.  The beads are old and show age.  Scratches and nicks are possible and are expected in beads this old.

Beautiful beads!

So happy with this strand of beads. They are in terrific shape, and as described. Most of them are smooth ovals, and there are a few cubes as well as faceted rounds (facets are in various stages of smoothness due to wear). Most are clear and smooth, some appear more “frosted”/matte due to age. I’d originally intended to take the strand apart but it’s beautiful as-is. Thank you!
